Better For Grownups

Better for GrownUps was conceived of by my husband. Stay-at-Home-Dad "by day" and product creator "by night" (and any other time he could find over the past year), Zac has worked diligently to bring this product line to fruition. After looking at several packaging options in the US and abroad, he finally found the ideal match in a forward thinking, sustainable cardboard packaging design company a short drive away in Atlanta, Georgia. They were able to help us work through the technical design issues to produce our patent-pending tissue box with disposal storage as well as the whole line of {betterforGROWNUPS} packaging made out of water-resistant cardboard that is also recyclable, repulpable, and biodegradable. The problem of consumption as individuals and as a society is clear. The time for reusables is here. We designed a line of reusable personal care products because you can make a difference purchasing our products. So, what are you waiting for? Come on, Join the Reusable Revolution!

Leah Carter - While its beginnings were nurtured overseas while living abroad in Wales, Better for Babies, Inc. now has its roots firmly planted, and growing, outside Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2007, Leah opened her own manufacturing facility near her town’s square allowing her to see to fruition a dedication to local and sustainable production, fair wages, green business practices, and an uncompromising commitment to quality products, innovation and customer service. From there, Little Beetle organic diapers and wool covers are born. The Tres Tria Co-sleeping Solution came next, followed by a growth spurt resulting in Better For Grownups.

With a BS and graduate work in Philosophy, Leah serves as Chair of the Real Diaper Industry Association.  She has a passion for reading and enjoying family time whenever possible.

Lauren Parker was a cloth-diapered baby born to a single mother in Groton, NY. She helped raise and diaper her younger sister and graduated as the valedictorian of Newfield Central High School in NY at 16. She then went on to attend Ithaca College as a psychology major. She joined Inner Harbour AmeriCorps after graduation, then went on to work at Inner Harbour Hospital (a residential facility for children and teens with behavioral and emotional troubles) as a Senior Counselor for 3 years. She also attended the University of West Georgia, earning her M.A. in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology.

While in grad school, she needed a third part-time job and made sure it was one that supported her values and involved working with people she loved -- so she joined the Better for Babies family in January 2008 as a shipping employee. Her passion for organization, efficiency, and her desire to take on increasing responsibility around the office led to her quick promotion to Shipping Manager in the Spring of 2008. Approaching her two-year anniversary with us, Lauren has earned the title VP, Shipping Manager and Wholesale Accounts.

Lauren loves reading, writing, playing in Nature, photography, laughing, painting, camping, collaging, learning, and being productive. She also absolutely loves working at Better for Babies and looks forward to diapering her own children with Little Beetles in the not-so-distant future! She sends particularly warm appreciation to her partner, her pets, Leah, and the rest of her wonderful community for helping her fulfill her passions in- and outside of work. :)
